sumo is a duo from geneva founded in 1999 by brothers fred and alex sumi. both played the piano when they were kids before they embraced freestyle-bmx. while they were riding, the ghettoblaster used to blast out punk hardcore or hip hop. in the 90�s, they moved quite naturally into music, playing bass and guitar in their originated funk band, swiss cheese connection. from 2000 to 2004, they have released on their own chiz recordslabel 4 vinyl ep s, supported by the press and djs like gilles peterson, jazzanova or luke solomon. in 2003, sumo makes its debut on yoshitoshi, label of grammy award winner duo djs deep dish, with the single >yes we will< which is played by top dj s like digweed, pete tong or paul oakenfold.
